THE WAN College Portfolio Path™ is a 1:1 fashion portfolio mentorship program designed to guide high school students through the process of preparing a competitive portfolio for top fashion schools.

Applying to fashion school can feel overwhelming without clear direction. This program bridges creativity and structure—helping students transform ideas into well-developed concepts, garments, and portfolios that reflect both technical skill and personal vision. Through individualized guidance, students gain clarity, confidence, and a strategic approach to portfolio development and application preparation.

Whether students are starting from scratch or refining existing work, THE WAN College Portfolio Path™ provides the foundation, direction, and professional insight needed to apply with confidence.

Our Services

  • This session is ideal for students who already have portfolio work and want professional feedback before applying.

    Includes:

    • Review of existing sketches, garments, and concepts

    • Evaluation of garment construction and craftsmanship

    • Feedback on concept clarity and portfolio storytelling

  • 4–8 Weeks or more | 1:1 Private Program

    This comprehensive mentorship is designed for students building a portfolio from scratch or significantly refining their existing work.

    Program Focus:

    • Portfolio organization and presentation

    • School-specific portfolio expectations

    Outcome:

    Students complete the program with a cohesive, school-ready fashion portfolio that reflects both creative vision and technical foundation.

01 Complete the Intake Form

Students or parents begin by submitting a detailed intake form outlining experience level, portfolio status, target schools, and application timeline. ( see section below)

03 Confirm Enrollment

Once the program and timeline are confirmed, enrollment is completed and sessions are scheduled.

Based on the intake form, we review each submission and recommend the most appropriate service—Portfolio Review, Portfolio Building Mentorship, or School Strategy Session.

Viola Wan is a Los Angeles–based fashion designer, creative director, and wardrobe stylist with over 8 years of industry experience. With a background in professionally trained dance, her work is influenced by movement, structure, and visual storytelling—resulting in designs that blend edge, clarity, and intentional simplicity.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Industry Studies (Fashion Design & Business) and two Associate of Arts degrees in Fashion Design and Advanced Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM), Los Angeles, CA. Her professional experience spans fashion PR showrooms, brand production, wholesale womenswear, and personal styling, giving her a well-rounded understanding of the fashion industry.

Over the past several years, Viola has styled and designed for music videos, red carpets, editorials, fashion shows, and e-commerce. Her work has been worn by talent including Coco Jones, Kylie Cantrall, Bernice Ye, INASX, and WWE superstar Seth Rollins, and has appeared on national broadcasts reaching over 35 million viewers.

In 2025, Viola presented her couture brand THE WAN COUTURE- “Trust” Deluxe at Los Angeles Fashion Week and was awarded the Designer Grand Prize by @themodelexperience, earning a runway presentation for her upcoming collection “Faith” (2025) at New York Fashion Week. Her work has been featured in Vogue, ELLE (November issue), Selin, Style Cruze, Mode, Goji, Moevir, and more.

She is also the founder of @thewansewingstudios, a creative education space focused on sewing, upcycling, and responsible fashion practices—dedicated to empowering the next generation of designers.
