Completion of a final portfolio depends on individual progress and effort. COURSE STRUCTURE (6 WEEKS) Week 1 — Portfolio Foundations & Creative Direction - Understanding fashion school portfolio requirements -Identifying your design interests & strengths -Developing a personal concept or theme -Introduction to research, inspiration, and mood boards -Outcome: Clear portfolio direction & creative concept Week 2 — Fashion Sketching & Design Development -Fashion sketching fundamentals (hand + optional digital) -Translating inspiration into designs -Design iterations and refinement -Fabric and material considerations - Outcome: Design sketches ready for portfolio development Week 3 — Garment Construction & Technical Basics -Selecting the right project for portfolio use -Garment construction planning -Fit, structure, and finishing fundamentals -Sewing techniques appropriate for beginners to intermediate students -Outcome: Garment project in progress with construction plan Week 4 — Process Documentation & Portfolio Content -How to document your process (sketches, fittings, patterns, experiments) -What process work schools want to see -Organizing visuals for portfolio storytelling -Outcome: Strong process pages for portfolio Week 5 — Portfolio Layout, Photography & Presentation -Simple garment photography (lighting, background, angles) -Portfolio layout basics (digital & PDF format) -Organizing work for clarity and flow -Outcome: Polished portfolio pages in progress Week 6 — Portfolio Review & School Strategy - Individual portfolio feedback and refinement -Understanding differences between fashion schools -Application strategy & next steps Final checklist for portfolio readiness Outcome: Clear submission plan & next-step roadmap WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR? -High school students interested in fashion or design schools -Beginners starting a portfolio from scratch -Students needing structure, guidance, and accountability -Aspiring designers who want real portfolio work IMPORTANT NOTE: This course provides portfolio structure and guidance.
